With just over 28 percent of voters turning out yesterday. Marion voters have once again said no to new funding for local schools and agencies. The tax issues that were renewals were approved. The ones asking for additional funding were voted down.
For the county wide issues, voters approved Marion County Children Services’ renewal levy. The Tri-Rivers’ replacement levy was defeated. The MARCA’s replacement, the Pleasant Schools’ additional levy request and Ridgedale Schools’ income tax/bond issue were also defeated.
Ayers Ratliff won re-election to Marion City Council’s 2nd Ward. Gary Iams will return to the Marion City School District Board of Education. He’ll be joined by former coach and Principal Mike McCreary .
Scott Crider will join the Marion City Council along with incumbents Becky Gustin and Josh Daniels as at large members.
