Marion Technical College's ABLE Program (Adult Basic & Literacy Education) is offering a free GED practice test next month at their downtown GET Center.
According to a release, the ABLE Program has now opened registration for the two-day session. Program coordinator Cheryl Haggerty says anyone seeking their GED needs to act now, because the test will see major changes next year--including an increase in difficulty. "They are upping the difficulty of the GED test because they're anticipating that it will be more difficult to get a high school diploma," said Haggerty.
She says the cost of taking the test will increase in January 2014 from $40 to $120. Haggerty also said space for this year's tests may be limited, according to information from the state of Ohio. "After August of this year, if you're not registered to take the GED test, then they're not guaranteeing you have a spot to take it," she said.
The free practice test will be given June 19 and 20 at 345 E. Fairground St. in the new GET Center. To register for this practice test, call (740) 389-4636 ext. 223.
