Crawford County law enforcement officials were able to foil a pair of thieves with help from a legally armed citizen on Tuesday.
According to a release, Tuesday morning police received a 911 call regarding a burglary in progress at 2350 Beck Rd. in Crestline. A man had witnessed two men fleeing his home carrying stolen items. Police say the homeowner is a licenced concealed carry permit holder and was able to hold one of the suspects at gunpoint until help arrived.
The second thief was caught after hiding in a wooded area for about two hours, Galion and Bucyrus police aided in the search. The release states that nearby Colonel Crawford schools were advised of the situation.
The suspects were identified as Thomas Holbrook, 27, and Richard Stall, 25, both of Galion. Holbrook and Stall are reportedly both in jail and facing charges of burglary.
