Thursday afternoon, Marion police officers took down their second meth lab in three days. A release states that officers from the MARMET drug task force and Richwood police department made the bust at 710 N. Prospect St. in Marion.
Apparently the investigation into this meth lab stemmed from a similar bust made in Richwood in April. There was no specific word on how the incidents are related.
Once inside, police found chemicals and other components used in making methamphetamine, as well as the finished drug itself. The only arrest made was 40-year-old Rick S. Cook, who was charged with meth manufacturing and illegally possessing chemicals to do so.
Maj. Bill Collins of the Marion police deparment said, "These labs are very toxic and very dangerous", urging citizens to call the anonymous tips line at 740-375-TIPS if they suspect another similar operation.
