A well known defense attorney, who recently represented convicted murderer Raymond Bertuzzi in his Marion trial, was arrested Wednesday in Columbus.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, Javier Armengau, 50, was cuffed in front of his office and charged with gross sexual imposition and public indecency.
Armengau was being processed Wednesday evening on the charges, related to an incident that allegedly happened Feb. 4. A 42-year-old woman who's son is reportedly being represented by Armengau on murder charges, says the attorney fondled her breasts and exposed himself to her in his Columbus office.
The Dispatch report says this case is being investigated by the Columbus Police Department's sexual assault unit as well as their vice unit and Franklin County Sheriff's Department investigators.
According to his website, Armengau also has an office at 208 S. Main St. in Marion.
