According to Marion City Police, Wednesday at about 11:15 a.m., a local man was arrested after he robbed the Marathon gas station at 885 E. Center St. Walter Kehren, 28, was caught after running from an officer who was out on routine patrol duty.

Police eventually surrounded Kehren's house at 226 Chicago Ave. and arrested him without further incident. According to the police report, money and a BB gun that resembled a semi-automatic handgun were found on him.

The investigation linked Kehren to another robbery last Friday Dec. 21 at the Certified station, also on E. Center St. He is now being held at the Multi-County jail on two counts of burglary.
