AAA has released their predictions for holiday travel and they say more than 93 million travelers across the country will go at least fifty miles away from home this year.

The agency reports that this year's expected travel volume is the second highest in ten years and is up 1.6% from 2011's year-end holiday season, which is defined as Friday Dec. 22 through Monday Jan. 1, 2013.

As expected, cars remain the top transportation choice with the number of drivers increasing 2.1%. Approximately 14.8 million drivers will hit the road in the region that includes Ohio during that period. Holiday air travel is seeing a larger increase this year though, as 4.5% more travelers will be flying.

We've seen gas prices decrease over the past few weeks and AAA predicts that the average price of a gallon will continue to drop through the end of the year.
