The newest session for the Strengthening Families program starts today (October 4) and is to run for seven weeks. The program is specifically for families with children ages 10-14. The goal is to help children handle frustration, resist negative peer pressure, get along with others and appreciate their parents. During the session, families are guided through discussions on how to not only resolve problems but to also show love and support. Families meet on Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:45 pm at the Salvation Army, 317 West Church Street. To register for this free program, you can call 740-223-3075. Funding for the program is provided by the United Way of Marion County.
