A Marion man is in a hospital recovering from a gunshot wound, and police think the man might’ve accidentally been shot by his 3-year-old child. Officers responded to a call of a shooting at 3:10 yesterday afternoon in the 400-block of Scranton Avenue. Officers arrived to find a 24-year-old man with a single gunshot wound to his right side. The man initially was transported to Marion General Hospital and then was flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for surgery. Lt. Scott Sterling reports that police recovered the handgun that was used in the shooting and removed several other guns from the home. Marion County Children Services has been notified of the situation. Police are not yet releasing the victim’s identity.
