If you’ve ever wondered what it was like living in Marion 200 years ago, the county Historical Society would like to give you that experience. Tomorrow (Sept. 22) the society will present "Travel Thru Time: The War of 1812 and More." The event is set to run from 10 am to 5 pm and is to include hands-on experiences, such as pounding corn into cornmeal; there also will be a re-enactment of the War of 1812. Visitors will essentially be transported back to the frontier and encounter re-enactors playing various roles, such as that of broom-maker, blacksmith and weaver. The event is free.
