Two accused copper thieves are in custody this morning, charged with breaking and entering. 21-year-old Tony Price and 22-year-old Justin Martin are being held at the Multi-County jail pending formal charges from the Marion County prosecutor. Marion police report that officers Electa Foster and Jim Fitsko, along with Deputy Sheriff Rick Hare, located the two suspects riding bikes, and each was carrying a box of copper pipe. The officers determined through an investigation that Price and Martin had broken into a vacant house at 1211 S. Prospect Street and stole the copper pipe from under the sink and from the basement. Police say they were alerted to the suspects after a citizen reported suspicious behavior to authorities.
