Marion’s law director has determined that a company that owns a demolition site on the city’s north side has not been properly registered in the state of Ohio. The company, instead, is on file in Nevada, which is not enough to satisfy Ohio law, according to law director Mark Russell. Thus, Stan Rosenfeld faces a fourth-degree misdemeanor charge, as a corporation in Ohio that isn’t properly registered isn’t permitted to engage in business transactions in the state. Rosenfeld was previously charged in July with a minor misdemeanor of violating demolition regulations regarding the site on Joseph Street, which used to belong to Associated Hygienic Products. The site for months has been the source of complaints from neighbors, and the Ohio EPA has ordered the owners to determine whether the property contains any asbestos capable of becoming airborne.
