Two months after a break-in at the historic Harding Home, the facility is upgrading its security system with help from the Marion Community Foundation. The foundation has awarded more than $522,000 to beef up security that already has improved since the mid-July incident. During that summer break-in, someone stole a distinctive collar that belonged to a dog owned by the former President, Warren G. Harding, and damaged a jewelry box belonging to Florence Harding. The new security system will include video-monitoring equipment. The July break-in case remains unsolved.
