Lt. Matt Bayles of the Marion Police Department wants to remind the public that struggling with an armed intruder is never recommended. His warning comes in light of a reported Wednesday morning robbery at Pop’s Carryout in which the owner wrestled with an armed man who was demanding cash. In this case, the owner prevailed in pushing the intruder out, and no one was injured. But as Lt. Bayles notes, money can be replaced, a life cannot. As for the robbery at the Pop’s Carryout at 331 N. Main Street, the suspect is described as a black male, 30-39 years of age, 5-6 and 150 pounds. He was wearing a camouflage jacket, jeans, white leather tennis shoes, a blue ball cap and a red bandana. Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the Marion Police Department at 387-2525 or the Tips Line anonymously at 375-TIPS.
